WHAT: Chowaiki Mosionzhnik, a private art gallery based in New York City, and Shkola Gallery, a private art gallery in Moscow, have teamed up to host a group exhibition of abstract painting at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow.
WHO: This Exhibition will feature artists including: Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Hans Hofmann, Sam Francis, Joan Mitchell, Robert Motherwell, Richard Pousett-Dart, Ad Reindhardt, Milton Resnick, Mark Rothko, Esteban Vicente, Bettina Werner, James Brooks, Cy Twombly, and more.

In addition, the exhibition will feature work by subsequent generations of artists producing abstract works in a variety of media. The exhibition will allow audiences to engage with works by Pollock, de Kooning, and Rothko, never before exhibited in Russia, and will introduce them to prominent international contemporary artists – an unprecedented and comprehensive selection of abstract art from the 1940's to the present. CHOWAIKI/ MOSIONZHNIK: Chowaiki Mosionzhnik is a private gallery and art advisory service founded in 2004 by Ezra Chowaiki and Luba Mosionzhnik. The gallery has developed a far reaching reputation for its knowledge, support, patience, honesty and straightforward advice. This combination has helped Chowaiki Mosionzhnik acquire some of the top clients in the world for art by Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary masters. GALLERY SHKOLA: In March 2007, Gallery Shkola (L’École) opened in Moscow in partnership with Chowaiki Mosionzhnik (New York). It is the first gallery in Moscow to house exhibitions featuring internationally renowned Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Modern masters. Our inaugural exhibition included works by artists such as Courbet, Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, Chagall and Picasso among others. Gallery Shkola (L’École) was organized to bring to Russia a high level of art advisory to its already extensive clientele.
